The gardens were truly stunning, with unique and intricate topiary creations made from ancient Camellia plants. It was such a pleasure to wander through and admire the centuries' worth of horticultural artistry. The house itself had a charming character, with beautiful vaulted wooden ceilings and original furnishings that gave a sense of history. One of the best aspects of the hotel was its convenient location near the Parque Natural do Alvão, where we had a fantastic day swimming and sunbathing in the river pools above a picturesque waterfall. The staff were also friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable.
While the gardens and house were impressive, some areas could have been better maintained. There were a few areas of overgrown vegetation that slightly detracted from the overall beauty of the gardens.

We had a fantastic time exploring the unique and beautiful gardens. the topiary created from Camellia plants was truly remarkable. the breakfast was delicious and we loved the historic and cozy living room. the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us great suggestions for places to visit nearby.
We felt the location was a bit too remote and difficult to find. the rooms were a bit dated and could use some updating.
